Memorial bricks may be purchased to honor any veteran or active duty person who has honorably worn or is presently wearing, the uniform of the Armed Forces of the United States.
This includes not only present day active forces - ARMY, NAVY, MARINE CORPS, AIR FORCE, COAST GUARD-but also members of the Reserves, National Guard, and (Merchant Marines if served during WWII only).
He or she does not have to be a resident or have been a resident of Florence, Oregon in order to qualify. The veteran being honored can be living or deceased and can be of any generation.
It is requested that if a veteran purchases a brick for him/herself, that he/she submit proof of service time. This could be in the form of a copy of a DD Form 214 or any military assignment order, etc. All names of veterans submitted for inclusion on the Memorial Brick Wall are checked for verification of service.
The Memorial Brick Wall will be an 8’ x 42’ long wall – in four sections - on which we will place the names of veterans who have served honorably in the uniform of the Armed Forces of the United States. The veterans listed can be living or deceased, local or out-of-area. Along with their names, we are asking purchasers of a 4” x 8” memorial brick to also indicate if possible, the veterans’ last known rank, branch of service, year of service, and any special information they would like on their brick.
We have three lines available on each brick and can inscribe 20 letters or spaces per line. Cost of a brick in honor or memory of a veteran is just $50 per brick.
The first line should state the name of the veteran;
The second line last known rank if possible, branch of service, and war era or period of service (years);
The third line can be devoted to denoting a special ship on which he served, a favorite unit in which he served, or an area of combat operations in which she was involved. All inscriptions will be centered on the bricks
